2012 Holiday Gift Guide | #7 – Gifts for Safe-keeping

The title of this post makes it seem as if I am recommending a gift that’s super expensive and thus, needs safe keeping. I’m not. I’m recommending a gift that keeps your important things safe. Things such as your license, credit cards, debit cards, and cash.

Did you figure it out yet? Yup, that’s right – today’s gift items are wallets! Unfortunately, the men’s selections are pretty drab basic, so here are a few selections for the ladies!

Company: Kate Spade
Featured Item: Spotted Floral Lacey Wallet, $158.00
The first thing that attracted me most to this wallet was the pattern embossed on the patent leather. It’s absolutely adorable. The second thing is that it’s a pretty decent size, and has lots of pockets inside, including one to hold your spare change. And the third thing I loved, which is kind of very unlike me, is that it’s patent leather. My current wallet (which is dark purple leather… obviously not a color found in nature) has seen better days, and after a few years of use it’s getting a bit worn and faded. If it was patent leather, however, this wouldn’t be the case as it would remain shiny and new for many, many moons. As long as you’re willing to polish up your patent leather every once in a while, it’s quite durable!
Company: J.Crew
Featured Item: French Zip Wallet, $98.00
If you’re looking for something with a bit of a smaller profile (or in a lower price range), this J.Crew number is a great option! It’s got a coin pocket on the inside, as well as some slots for credit cards/IDs, and of course – cash. It comes in a couple of colors, but I really love this tan one as it would go with pretty much any colored bag. Bonus: It can be embossed for an additional fee to make it more of a “personal” gift!
