Prince Philip – the husband of Queen Elizabeth II – has been admitted to the hospital.
The statement released by the palace is as follows:
“His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to the London Clinic for an exploratory operation following abdominal investigations. He is expected to stay in hospital for up to two weeks.”
Prince Philip recently pulled out of an engagement with Her Majesty, although he did attend the Coronation Service earlier this week.
