Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton, and The Queen Meet Baby Cambridge

Just a mere 48 hours old (roughly!), Baby Cambridge has done something most people can only dream about. He’s met The Queen. Of course, by the time he’s old enough to know the significance of that it’ll be old hat and The Queen will just be Granny. He is, after all, her great-grandson.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Kate Middleton) as they left the hospital yesterday – July 23, 2013 – with their newborn son.

In addition to meeting Her Majesty, Baby Cambridge (I can’t wait to find out his name!) also met his uncle Prince Harry, his aunt Pippa Middleton, and Pippa’s boyfriend Nico. No word yet if Baby Cambridge has met his other uncle, James Middleton, and James’s girlfriend (and possibly fiance!) Donna Air – but I’m guessing he has.

While Her Majesty stopped by Kensington Palace this morning to meet the newest addition to the family, Pippa went by last night – and was there to greet the new family as they arrived at their palatial (literally) abode. For his part, Prince Harry also stopped in for a visit this morning, after taking some time away from his barracks in Suffolk.

For those of you wondering what’s up next for the newest addition to the royal family, he’s got a semi-busy schedule! Prince William has reportedly agreed to do an interview within the next two weeks, where we’ll hopefully get another glimpse of the 3rd in line to the throne – and the first formal introduction to the baby by name! Two or three weeks after that, it will be time for the baby’s christening, which will also produce the first official photos of the new heir.

If Prince William and Kate follow in the footsteps of Charles and Diana, then it’s likely that every year or so we’ll get new official photographs of the baby. Additionally, once the baby is old enough we may also get official press calls once or twice per year, including having the Prince answer some questions from the press. The reason Charles and Diana did this was in exchange for privacy for Princes William and Harry (“we’ll give you pictures and interviews twice per year, but you’ve got to let them go to school and be with friends like any other kid) and it’s likely that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will follow suit.

What are you most excited about – official photos, or learning the baby’s name? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
