Last month, when the invitations to the Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace made their rounds, The Duchess of Cambridge (nee Kate Middleton) appeared on the invite right alongside her husband.
However, it seems there’s been a change in plans, and that Kate will no longer be attending the event. Before anyone jumps on any conspiracy theory bandwagons as to why she may not be attending, Richard Palmer (@RoyalReporter) clarified on Twitter that Kate was never confirmed to attend the event anyway.
He also speculated on Twitter that the folks over at Centrepoint, the organization for which the event is being held, simply jumped the gun on including Kate’s name on the invitation prior to her plans being solidified.
When asked whether or not he thought it was strange that Kate would back out of the event after it had been announced that she was attending Richard said that it isn’t strange at all, given that Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge are not yet full-time royals and that they’ve got an infant at home.
So there you have it folks, we unfortunately will not be seeing The Duchess of Cambridge all glammed up later this month.
