Introducing Emy & Livy!

If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or Instagram then this is old news but if not… get ready for complete cuteness overload.

After putting Sasha down a few weeks ago Boyfriend and I were absolutely heartbroken. And after spending a few days home alone while Boyfriend was on a business trip it became abundantly clear that I am not cut out for a life of sitting completely alone in an apartment. Seriously – so boring. Boyfriend and I agreed that it was time for some new cuteness in our lives, but he had a stipulation – he wanted two kittens, from the same litter, so that they would have someone to keep them company while we were at work. As you can imagine it didn’t take much to convince me.

I was also hoping we could find two little girl kitties, since girls tend to be smaller than boys when full-grown, and ideally two that were a bit undersized for their age so they would stay small. Sasha was super tiny – only 7 lbs full grown – so I think it would be weird having two cats running around that are kind of large.

What I wasn’t expecting was to find the two most perfect kittens on the planet. I mean yes, all cats are adorable. But these two…. they look exactly like Sasha. In my entire life I’d never seen another cat that looked like Sasha (she was a diluted tortoiseshell), and somehow we found two!

Without further ado – I’d like to introduce to you Emy and Livy!

Morning snuggles are their favorite.

Emy (the one with the all black nose) is short for Emerald, one of the colors of my boyfriend’s fraternity – Alpha Delta Phi, while Livy (the one with the all white back paw) is short for Olive, one of the colors of my sorority – Alpha Chi Omega.

Seriously – don’t they look just like  Sasha? It’s uncanny. And we’re completely in love with them. Of course, we still miss Sasha – and I probably always will. After all, I’d had her since I was 4 years old. But these little girls are doing their best to fill the empty space in my heart.
