This is one of the saddest things to report. My favorite Hollywood couple – Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner – announced yesterday, 1 day after their 10 year wedding anniversary – that they are getting a divorce.
The couple, who are parents to three children, have said that they will be resolving matters amicably, and even plan to continue residing at their Brentwood estate for the time being – although Ben will stay in a guest house on the property.
It’s being reported that the couple also don’t have a pre-nuptial agreement, which means things could get dicey when it comes to the division of their assets, which include an estimated $150 million fortune, and four properties (the aforementioned Brentwood estate, a Manhattan apartment, an estate in Georgia, and a ski retreat in Montana.
That said, sources are reporting that the couple are determined to have the split be as amicable and painless as possible, and are resolved to use a mediator to divide their assets, rather than divorce lawyers, and that neither of them plans on asking for spousal support.
Let’s hope that things stay clean with these two … and, fingers crossed, that they somehow work it out.
