Prince William and Duchess Kate Head To Wimbledon

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – aka Prince William and the hair envy goddess formerly known as Kate Middleton – are taking in Wimbledon, as they do every year.

Today Kate was spotted in the royal box wearing a red L.K. Bennett dress (which is already sold out!), while William appears to be wearing exactly what he wore to Princess Charlotte’s christening on Sunday. (I’m sure William has more than 1 suit and 2 ties, but goodness – switch it up a bit. The navy blue looks nice on you – but spring for some other colors!)

Their Royal Highnesses were joined in the royal box by Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, Prince Albert of Monaco, and Bear Grylls. The group cheered on Andy Murray as he went up against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil on Centre Court.

Earlier in the week Kate’s sister Pippa took in a match, as did her brother James and mother Carole. The Middleton family are ardent tennis fans, and have been attending Wimbledon for years, long before Kate’s marriage into the royal family (although they weren’t sitting in such grand seats!).

During their visit, The Duke and Duchess appeared to be having a great time, with the pair being photographed constantly laughing and smiling.

A few weeks ago as most of the royal family attended Ascot it was wondered why William and Kate have never attended. My assumption is that they reserve their royal sporting outings for Wimbledon each year. It has also been reported that Kate has a strong distaste for horses (prior to her engagement it was even reported that she once told someone at a polo match that she was allergic to them), so she probably isn’t overly fond of the races.
