Get To Know Me Tag

Hi all! I’ve been taking a bit of an accidental break from the blog for, oh, I don’t know – a year now. I’ve been stuck in a rut where I’ve really, really wanted to come back here and start writing, but I want to be generating good content. Not just writing for the sake of writing – but writing so that people would really enjoy it.

And then I remembered, if anyone reads this stuff, that’s just a bonus. 🙂

I decided to try to break my writer’s block by searching Google for lists of things to write about – and holy moly, are there a lot! I found a great blog called Thirteen Thoughts written by Paula, and she has tons of great blogging resources. One of her posts had the suggestion to do a Get To Know Me tag, so that’s exactly what I’m doing!

Without further ado, here are 21 questions (and their answers) to help you get to know me!

Get To Know The Blogtini

Are you named after someone?

Not really but kind of? My first name is, as far as I know, just one that my parents liked, but my middle name is also my mom’s first name.

When was the last time you cried?

Oh geez probably not that long ago – although I can’t remember exactly when it was.

Do you have kids?

Nope, not yet. Sometimes my husband and I think about skipping kids and just getting a 3rd cat – but we’re mostly joking about that.

If you were another person, would you be friends with yourself?

I think so! Although it would probably take me a while to get me to open up, since I can be a little shy around new people, which tends to people thinking I’m rude.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

I have 2 – although at this point I barely keep them under wraps. I love watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and I am equally as enamored with following the various royal families of the world (hence the sections of my blog devoted to them).

Do you like handwriting?

I do! There’s nothing better than getting a handwritten note.

What is your favorite cereal?

Oatmeal with blueberries. Or Cheerios. (I am so boring.)

What is the first thing you notice about people?

… their smell. Is that bad? It’s just – if someone smells bad, I kind of can’t be around them. So before I’ve even figured out if they’re a nice person or not, I’ve already decided whether or not I can tolerate them based on their scent.

What color are your eyes?

Blueish/greenish/grayish.

Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy. Always. I can’t handle scary movies.

Favorite TV show?

SO MANY! I love funny things (Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory) but I also never miss an episode of Game of Thrones, Reign, Outlander, and Downton Abbey. I’ve already professed my love of KUWTK, and I also really like MTV’s The Challenge. And, of course, there’s HGTV which can suck me in for hours with just about anything they have on.

Summer or winter?

Fall, I think. I know that wasn’t an option, but that’s my answer.

Hugs or kisses?

Both!

What’s the furthest you’ve been from home?

Hmmm…. Mexico, I think. (I’m from Massachusetts)

Do you have special talents?

Sadly, no.

Where were you born?

Providence, Rhode Island

What are your hobbies?

Reading. Writing. I used to ski every winter, and I used to like running until I got grossly out of shape.

Do you have any pets?

2 of the most adorable cats in the world! (They’re must closer in size in real life than they look in this photo. Emy is the one with the black nose, Livy is the one with the pink nose.)

Favorite movie?

Love, Actually and Pride and Prejudice

What color is your car?

I’ve been told, very specifically, that it is Charcoal Gray.

What did you want to be when you grow up?

I remember being in elementary school and wanting to be a veterinarian, a model (HAAAAA!), an actress, and then a singer. In middle school and part of High School I wanted to be a lawyer. Then a PR/marketing girl (My senior year of HS I actually wrote an essay about this that won be a scholarship for college). I batted around the idea of being an Anthropologist after taking Intro to Anthropology in college freshman year and finding it fascinating, and then I realized it was completely unrealistic since I didn’t actually know what type of jobs would be available. I settled back on the Marketing/PR thing in college, and that’s what I do now. Although, for a little while in 2010 I fully embarked on the lawyer thing, until I realized I HATED being in law school and contemplated throwing myself out of the law library window because I was so bored.
