It isn’t often that Pippa Middleton, younger sister of Kate Middleton, is spotted making a fashion faux pas but – unfortunately for her – yesterday was just one of those days.
The middle Middleton child was spotted leaving UK grocery chain Waitrose in a salmon-pink sweater dress, with matching cardigan. Her light grey sneakers were the finishing touch on an entirely lackluster ensemble.
But where did Vanity Fair’s newest writer go wrong? First – it seems that everything is just a bit ill-fitting. Right down to her bra.While she was probably aiming for casual and low-key (especially after two back-to-back events – Royal Ascot and the Percy/Van Staubenzee wedding) where she pulled out all the stops and looked fantastic!), she ended up with matronly and a bit disheveled.
Now, don’t get us wrong! We love Pippa… she’s one of our go-to sartorial icons. And no one is saying you need to be dressed to the nines to go to the grocery store. Heavens no! But there was too much of a mish-mash happening. Cute sandals with the dress (and a better bra) would have sufficed, or some cropped pants and a tank with the same cardigan.
Luckily, we may be saved yet – as Pippa is rumored to be attending Wimbledon today with her younger brother, James.
