For those of you anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby (dubbed Baby Cambridge), you might as well prepare to wait a while more. While Baby Cambridge is expected to make his or her first appearance sometime in the next week or so, there’s another royal baby on the way!
Zara Tindall (who is still professionally known as Zara Phillips in the equestrian world) and her husband, ruby player Mike Tindall, have announced that they are expecting, and the baby is due sometime in early 2014. So feel free to get nice and cozy in your royal bump watch shoes, because we’ve got at least another five months (they could be tricking us, time wise!) of watching on our hands!
Zara, who is the second child of Princess Anne, The Princess Royal (the only daughter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II), does not have a royal title, and is not styled as an HRH (Her Royal Highness), as her father did not accept The Queen’s offer of a title upon his marriage to Princess Anne. As a result, this royal offspring will not receive a title at birth either, as Mike is untitled. However, this baby will be the child of two professional athletes, one of whom won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics. And that is nothing to snuff at!
Baby Tindall will be Princess Anne’s third grandchild, and Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh’s fourth great-grandchild.
