The Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton) may have only given birth a couple of months ago – on July 22 – but that isn’t stopping her from getting right back to work.
After what was, hopefully, a relaxing period of maternity leave, The Duchess is officially back in action. She surprised race participants and supporters when she stepped out with Prince William as he started the Ring O’ Fire event earlier this fall, a week ahead of her first scheduled public appearance at the Tusk Trust Awards.
It has now been announced that her first solo engagement since Prince George’s birth will take place on October 18, when she visits with one of her new patronages – SportsAid.
Kate’s patronage of SportsAid (which is very fitting as she was a stellar athlete during her time at Marlborough College) was announced way back in April, but as she was already about six months pregnant at that point she did not do any public engagements for their benefit. That’s all about to change when she visits their SportsAid Workshop, where she – along with ParaOlympic and Olympic athletes – will be meeting with participants, playing sports with them, and sitting in on workshops on topics such as nutrition and media training.
