After reading Carly’s review of Everybody Rise: A Novel by Stephanie Clifford I quickly zipped over to Amazon and purchased the Kindle edition of the book. And let me tell you, I am so glad I did.
I couldn’t put this book down and I actually stayed up until 1 AM reading it because I was desperate to know how everything ended for the main character, Evelyn.
Taking place in 2006-2007, the book follows Evelyn as she navigates her post-collegiate life in New York during a time of excess when status reigned supreme, just prior to the “Great Recession” kicking off.
As she began working on signing up society It-Girls for memberships, Evelyn also got wrapped up in the glitz and the glamour of their lifestyle and found ways to manage to keep up with them… for a while.
There’s just a few more weekends left of summer and this book is perfect for a final beach read during Labor Day Weekend. Check it out and let me know what you think!
