So, I spent this past weekend at my family’s vacation home in New Hampshire – a place I have always loved. In high school & college I rarely made it out there, due to obligations to sports (in HS) and my sorority (in college), so going to the NH House (as we call it) to unwind after working since college graduation, before embarking on the 1L journey was just what the doctor ordered.
I pulled into the driveway of our house & stepped out, and my first thought was “Wow, the air smells so different here”. The air in the mountains in NH is clean. Our house is on a little dirt road in the middle of no where. The grocery store is 20 minutes away (as is the nearest Dunkin’ Donuts). There’s a ski mountain 10 minutes down the road, which is great in the winter but totally irrelevant in my summer. The highway is over an hour away – once you get off the highway to get to our house it’s just a 1 lane road for about 50 miles. The air is fresh and clean and wonderful. When you’re outside at night the stars are AMAZING – literally like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
So – the trip to NH was great, although it means I missed out on an opportunity to spend some time with the boyfriend. Now that he has gotten a new job, and I am off to law school we’ll be limited to seeing each other on the weekends, and it isn’t even guaranteed that it’ll be every weekend since I will probably have school work to do.
I wish I had taken some more picture of NH, but unfortunately I’ve only got 1 – of our house. Which I think is the most adorable little place. There’s 2 bedrooms (one downstairs, 1 upstairs) and a bed in the loft. There’s 1 bathroom and my grandfather also put in an outdoor shower a few years back, so that in the summer months it would be a bit easier to accommodate all the people. When we were younger, there would be atleast 11 people in the house at any given time. At the very least, the outdoor shower would prevent us from trailing in sand from our trips to the lake.
And – that’s pretty much all I’ve got. xoxo
