Ok, so everyone knows that people who work at Google have the best benefits ever. World-class dining in their cafeterias, a pretty lax dress code. But were you aware of their nap pods?
No? Well – here’s a photo:
A nap pod is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a pod in which one takes a nap. They’re designed to put you at the perfect angle for sleeping, and block out all noise and light. I think there is also an alarm mechanism which gently shakes the pod and add some relaxing noises you are aren’t jarred awake frantically, but rather peacefully woken from your restful slumber.
So apparently, not only does Google encourage their employees to eat healthy meals and be comfortable at work – they also encourage them to be well rested.
I’d like to petition uhm – every single work place in the country – to buy a nap pod. They’re only $17,000+. Which sounds just about worthwhile, wouldn’t you say?
Additionally, I’ve decided that when I work for a company that will provide me with such an amazing work perk, I will also keep lots of extra pairs of shoes & work pants at my desk and no one will notice that I’ve spent far too long in there, because it’ll look like a different pair of legs sticking out! 🙂 That’ll work, right?
