After reading the Pippa Middleton does Pilates 1x/week (don’t judge me!) and swears by it, I decided to get back into the game. I had been an avid Pilates go-er for about 1 year in college, but when the gym I belonged to got pushed out of town by Planet Fitness (… can’t beat $20 24x7gym and unlimited tanning in a college town), I fell off the Pilates bandwagon.
After searching the internet a few nights ago and comparing/contrasting local Pilates studios, I decided on one in a nearby town that, it turns out, my aunt also frequents. Luckily, the studio had a mat class the next night, so I decided to bite the bullet and go, and even called to pre-register for the class. I convinced my aunt to come with me, and I’m pretty sure we both instantly fell back in love with it – I know I did.
I’ve decided that I am definitely going to keep the Pilates up, at least through the summer when I’ll actually have been doing it long enough to determine whether or not it’s worth the $100 it’ll cost me for a 10 class-pack. My pants have been getting a little snug, and in addition to eating healthy and running I think it will be the perfect addition to my new healthy lifestyle (aka, the “OMG I have to get my fat ass into a bathing suit in a couple weeks” panic).
