Last night was the premier of VH1’s Tough Love: New Orleans. I’ll be honest, I’ve never watched Tough Love before (nor do I regularly tune into any of VH1’s programming) but I watched last night, and was pleasantly surprised!

I tuned in because a friend of mine is actually on the show this season – if you watched last night, or plan to watch in the future, her name is Melissa, and she’s been dubbed “Miss Awkward” (which is a much less hurtful name than some of the other girls got!) … and she is awkward, but in a super lovable way!

If I had just stumbled across the show, and didn’t know someone on it, I think I still probably would have tuned in for the whole episode, and may have come back for more (although, it’s on at the same time as Game of Thrones… sooo…) – the show is great, the girls are hilarious/ridiculous, and the host – Steve Ward – is amazing! He dishes out some phenomenal advice, and I’m excited to see which girls do well and which girls get sent to the “hot seat.”
I’m working with VH1 right now to get permission to do weekly recaps with Melissa, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Be sure to tune in every Sunday night at 9pm ET on VH1!
