And so, boyfriend and I officially have a place to live. Yesterday I got the call from the apartment complex that we were approved, and Saturday we’ll go sign the lease. Tuesday we (well I, actually) get the keys, and then on June 29 we’ll be moving into our brand new digs.
I am so excited that I can barely contain myself! Seriously.
I keep calling boyfriend asking him ridiculous questions like, “is it too early to set up an appointment to turn the cable on,” and “should I call them to have the electric turned on for the day we pick up the keys.” Really ridiculous things. Because even though we’re getting the keys on June 19, we aren’t moving in until 10 days later… so there is really no need for all of that… yet.
But moving in with my boyfriend also means that I am officially, for good, moving out of Mom and Dad’s house – and that is quite a scary thing! For one, I have no idea how to cook, and neither does boyfriend. So we might starve to death… or get really, really fat from eating fast food and take-out.
My new goal is to, before we move in, find some quick and easy recipes (that are peanut/tree nut free!!) that I might even be able to practice making before move-in day, so we can hit the ground running in the “able to feed ourselves” department. (Note: Boyfriend has been living on his own for almost 2 years and I believe he has subsisted almost entirely on frozen meals, pizza, and Burger King. Miraculously he hasn’t gained 23495 pounds, but I probably wouldn’t be so lucky.)
