For the second time in one and a half months, I’m sick. 🙁
The first time a simple cold resulted in full-on bronchitis. This time, I’m hoping to nip it in the bud early by heading to the doctors this afternoon. I have no idea what I’m hoping they tell me, since this is probably just a virus, but I don’t think it’s normal to be sick with the same thing twice in two months.
In the meantime, I’ve been living off of tea, oatmeal, and Vitamin C drops.

This is my actual tea mug on my actual desk at work. I love it. |
And last night – in a spurt of absolutely stupidity genius I decided that the best way to recover would be to make some homemade chicken soup!
After work I stopped by the grocery store, bought all of the necessary ingredients – including a whole chicken to roast – headed home, and got to work. The chicken took about 2.5 hours to cook, and (due to my terribly bad planning) by the time it was done I had to start my American Idol live-blog for HaveUHeard.
Luckily, the results shows are pretty easy to blog while multi-tasking, so during commercial breaks I ran to the kitchen to peel, chop, and slice the chicken, carrots, and celery.

We’re almost there! You can’t really tell, but that stock pot is red, from Paula Deen’s line. |
Around 9pm, I finally had my delicious dinner – homemade chicken soup!
