The most iconic brand of all time – Chanel – is celebrating the grand opening of their flagship store in London. The store doesn’t officially open until this Wednesday, but the company decided to give a select few (namely large fashion magazines such a Vogue and Glamour) VIP access.
The new store is 12,600 square feet, spans 158-159 Bond Street, and took over 15 months to complete. Designed by famed New York architect Peter Marino, the store will essentially be a large, Chanel-only department store, housing their ready-to-wear, jewelry, and beauty collections. And speaking of “housing,” the man behind the brand, Karl Lagerfeld, wanted the store to have a “homey” feeling, with each room being decorated with lush fabrics and carpeting, and some even with couches and coffee tables.
