You didn’t think that the world would let the birth of the biggest Trivial Pursuit question of this generation go unnoticed, did you? Yes, when Baby Cambridge is born there will be celebrations across the world – including, of course, in London.
The celebrations in London began with an official Tweet from Clarence House, where The Prince of Wales (Prince William’s father) keeps his offices, and a press release from Kensington Palace, where Prince William and Kate Middleton’s offices have now re-located.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour.

Once the baby is born, a messenger will be dispatched from the hospital with a sealed envelope to the gates of Buckingham Palace, where they will post the official birth announcement which may or may not contain the child’s name.
According to a palace source,
“We wanted to retain some of the theatre of the notice,” a palace spokesperson revealed. “It is quite important to us that this is done properly and with the degree of dignity that the event demands. This is the birth of a child who will be in line to the throne.”
Once the announcement has been made, two traditional gun salutes will ring through London. There will be a 41 gun salute from Green Park, and a 62 gun salute from The Tower of London.
Meanwhile, in Canada, Niagara Falls will light up either pink or blue, depending on the sex of the child.
And of course, there will be a plethora of “Special Edition” newspapers, magazines, and TV programs to commemorate the birth.
