The first engagement for The Duchess of Cambridge, formerly known as Kate Middleton, has been announced by the palace.
Although Kate will still formally be on maternity leave, she will attend the September 22 Tusk Trust gala with her husband, Prince William, as guests of honor. Tusk Trust is a UK charity that funds conservation efforts in Africa, and William has been a longtime patron of the group – being actively involved in many of their yearly events.
Royal watchers are sure to be pleased that Kate is stepping out, and all eyes are sure to be on her clothing selection for the evening. She made waves (of the best kind) and was widely applauded when she stepped out of St. Mary’s Hospital after giving birth proudly displaying her “mummy tummy” (as the Brits call it) and wearing a bespoke Jenny Packham dress that made no efforts to conceal her natural figure.
No further engagements for Kate have been announced at this time, but it’s expected that by mid-October she’ll be back to her royal duties.
