{SPOILER ALERT: This post contains a spoiler from Season 1 of Game of Thrones. Proceed at your own risk!}
Well, now that that’s out of the way. Sophie Turner, the actress that plays the simultaneous fantastic and obnoxious Sansa Stark in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, has done perhaps the coolest thing we’ve ever heard of from a celebrity. Or at least the most lovable and adorable.
At the very beginning of Game of Thrones, each of the Stark children winds up with a dire wolf to call their own. Unfortunately for Sansa, her dire wolf ends up dying. Sophie, who obviously spent a lot of time on set with her dire wolf before that pivotal scene, and who had always wanted a dog growing up, convinced the show’s handlers (with some help from her mother) to allow her to adopt the dog when its film career had ended.
Sophie told the Coventry Telegraph,
“Growing up I always wanted a dog but my parents never wanted one. We kind of fell in love with my character’s dire wolf, Lady, on set. We knew Lady died, and they wanted to re-home her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her.”
Her character may be a bit obnoxious through most of the first and second seasons, but man – we really love Sophie Turner!
(PS: Sansa becomes a much better character as the show progresses. Bear with her, she’s still young!)
