For weeks months now, rumors have been abound as to who would land the coveted leads roles of Fifty Shades of Grey. Everyone from Emma Watson to Emilia Clarke was rumored for the female lead of Anastasia Steele, but there was never really a clear-cut front runner for the role of Christian Grey. (Although we were certainly rooting for Ian Somerhalder.)
Now, after endless speculation, the official cast has been announced. Playing Christian Grey will be Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam, with the relatively unknown Dakota Johnson playing Anastasia Steele.
Interestingly, there’s been another major development regarding notable names attached to Fifty Shades of Grey. Designer (and former Spice Girl) Victoria Beckham has reportedly been tapped to design and create the clothes for the flick. The premise of the books involves a very wealthy Christian Grey providing a lavish and luxurious lifestyle for Anastasia Steele (… among other things), so it makes sense that the reigning Queen of Luxe would take the helm on the threads.
