E!, the channel responsible for making the Kardashian family a household name, has set its sights on a new genre of television – the drama.
According to Deadline.com, the new series The Royals will be “a contemporary drama about a fictional royal family informed by the regal opulence of the British monarchy and framed by Shakespeare’s Hamlet; a tale of men and women corrupted by power, wealth and desire.”
The Chronicles of Narnia star William Moseley has been cast as Prince Liam, the prince who’s been thrust into the spotlight after his older brother – and the heir to the throne – is killed. Elizabeth Hurley has been cast as Queen Helena, who is struggling with her son’s death while also trying to reign in her younger son (Prince Liam) … and put the kabosh on his relationship with his American girlfriend.
