It has been announced that Prince George, the eldest (and current only) child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka Prince William and Kate Middleton) will be christened next month.
The official date for the historic ceremony has been confirmed by Kensington Palace as Wednesday, October 23, 2013 and while the guest list has not yet been announced it is nearly a foregone conclusion that The Queen, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry will all be in attendance. It’s also safe to presume that Kate’s entire family will be present (although we’re interested to see if Uncle Gary will get an invite!). Additionally, the princes’s godparents, who have not yet been publicly named, will – of course – be on the guest list.
Christenings for members of the royal family (including Prince William and Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales) generally take place either at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, however young Prince George is set to be christened at St James’s Palace in The Chapel Royal.
