The creator of Glee, Ryan Murphy, has confirmed the end date of the series, which has had a bit of a turbulent year.
Unfortunately for the students at McKinley High, and the graduates off in New York City, season six – which is next season – is set to be their last.
According to Ryan Murphy, Cory Monteith’s death has drastically affected his envisioned ending of the show, which will now need to be entirely re-worked. Speaking with reporters, Murphy said,
The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was – he was in it. I knew what the last line was – she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.
