Prince Harry, the fourth in line to the throne, has a bit of a reputation as a “party prince,” but BBC has taken that persona to a whole new – disrespectful – level.
While discussing the christening of Prince George, the eldest (and currently only) son of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka Prince William and Kate Middleton), Jo Brand – host of the BBC trivia show Have I Got News For You quipped,
George’s godparents include Hugh van Cutsem – I presume that’s a nickname as in Hugh van cuts ‘em and Harry then snorts ‘em.’
Not only was his statement disrespectful to both Prince Harry and the van Cutsem family due to it’s drug reference, it was also factually inaccurate (for more than just the drug reference). It is William van Cutsem that was named as a godfather to Prince George. Hugh van Cutsem, William’s father, was a very good friend of Prince Charles until his death last month. So, not only did Brand accuse two men of doing drugs (and whether or not Prince Harry does drugs we don’t know – but we doubt), he also slandered the name of a recently deceased man.
