In the days following Cory Monteith’s tragic death his long-time girlfriend (and Glee co-star) Lea Michele was obviously distraught. She was also, unfortunately, being harassed by reporters and paparazzi, who had set up shop in front of her home.
In a recent interview, Lea Michele revealed that Kate Hudson (who has a bit role on Glee) came to her rescue, offering her a place to live and evade the reporters while she dealt with Cory’s passing.
“I called [Kate Hudson] and said, ‘I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters]. She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing. No one knew I was there. I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.”
While Lea seems to have bounced back from the devastating news, she is still clearly struggling with the passing of her boyfriend. However, she also told the interviewer that Cory would have wanted her to use this experience to help others, and that she has chosen to rise.
Kudos to Lea for being so strong, and Kate for being such an amazing friend!
