Last month we learned that Glee creator Ryan Murphy has pretty much settled on an end-date for Glee, which was a pretty big bummer. But now news is coming out that Murphy is planning to set Glee star Lea Michele up with her own spin-off series!
Lea Michele has pretty much been the driving force behind Glee, with the writers and producers admitting that she’s gotten a lot of say in the direction her character has taken (heading to New York to pursue her dream of being on Broadway) and how she has handled the death of Finn (played by Lea’s off-screen boyfriend Cory Monteith). It’s no surprise, then, that Ryan Murphy would want to give Lea Michele the option to continue Rachel’s story – especially since it’s pretty much the only part of Glee that people still look forward to.
When the older characters on the series graduated a season or two ago, the show essentially split into two directions – the McKinley High section of the show, and the NYC section. For most long-time Glee fans, the McKinley High portion has no longer been entertaining, since they’re more interested in seeing where their favorite characters will end up.
What do you think – would you watch a Glee spin-off centered around Lea Michele’s character, Rachel Berry? Let us know in the comments!
