The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka Prince William and Kate Middleton) had a surprise, slightly-impromptu walk-about this morning at a Tube station.
As part of the London Poppy Day celebration, The Duke and Duchess headed into London to meet with military vets, active service men and women, their families, and supporters while Prince Harry and Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh made tracks for the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.
En route to their destination of Kensington High Street, The Cambridges boarded a bus with Barbara Windsor – a British TV personality and surprised the supporters of the Royal British Legion.
For their part, Prince Harry joined his grandfather The Duke of Edinburgh at a service at Westminster Abbey, where they each laid a cross in front of the Grave of the Unknown Soldier.
As Prince Harry is still an active serviceman with the British Army, and Prince Philip enjoyed a long military career with the British Navy, their appearance and participation in today’s events was well suited to the occasion.
