According to royal officials, The Queen and her husband Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh – as well as their staff – may have to move out of Buckingham Palace for a while. Additionally, any other royals who reside in Buckingham Palace or keep apartments or offices there, will also need to move.
This news comes after it was announced that the palace requires $237 million worth of critical renovations such as repairing leaking (and in some cases drooping!) roofs and ceilings, removing asbestos, and updating the electrical wiring and plumbing. The Palace hasn’t been renovated since Her Majesty became Queen in 1952, and although minor repairs are constantly taking place, it has now become apparent that a major overhaul must be completed if the building is to survive.
So, where will The Queen go? Well, she’s not exactly hurting in the real estate department.
It is thought that she and Prince Philip will remove to Windsor Castle, which they use as their weekend home, and where The Queen reportedly prefers to spend her time as it feels more like “home.” If that doesn’t work out, they could also head to Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, Balmoral Castle in Scotland (which is the private property of The Queen), or even take up apartments in Kensington Palace or St James Palace. Heck – there are royal apartments in The Tower of London, although those are typically only utilized the night before a monarch’s coronation.
Buckingham Palace by the Numbers:
- 1703: Year built (so yes, it’s celebrated more birthdays as a building than America has as a country…)
- 775: Number of rooms in the palace
- 1761: Purchased by King George III for his wife, Queen Charlotte (to use as a “comfortable family home close to St James’s Palace” – comfortable indeed!)
- 1837: Became the official administrative headquarters of the monarchy
- $237 million: Cost of the proposed renovations
Watch this space for a post on who, exactly, will be funding these major renovations – the taxpayers, The Queen herself, or some combination of both!

The royals Are Not Leaving the Palace because of Repairs. They are Leaving because 1) The Scandal Breaking over them 2) because the Globalist Elites are going to Collapse Society and world Economies and they know people are going to go after them just like the Bilderberg Group.
Nice report. Thanks.
