Last week the Internet blew up with news of Amazon’s new show, Catastrophe, scoring killer ratings and rave reviews. So I did what any good child of the Internet would do – I told my husband that there was a new show that we needed to watch because “people say it’s great.” I then clarified – as I always do – that by “people” I meant the Internet, and that one person in particular (Andy Greenwald from Grantland) was on board.
And so, we watched.
And laughed. A lot.
Chuck had initially agreed to watch 1 episode “just to try it out” – but we quickly found ourselves blowing through the entire season (only six episodes! What kind of torture is that?!) in one night.
The show stars Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney as Rob and Sharon, a couple who meet while Rob is in London on business, have a short fling, and then end up finding out that Sharon is pregnant. When Sharon delivers the news Rob doesn’t skip a beat, offering to move to London to help Sharon raise the baby. Their relationship picks up where they left off while Rob also gets used to living in London and meeting Sharon’s friends… basically, hilarity ensues.
Now – I don’t want to over sell this show. There is nothing worse than when something is so hyped up that by the time people see it they’re like “Oh, that’s it?”. But – this show is super fun, and literally a “laugh out loud comedy.”
