If you live on the East Coast there’s a pretty good chance that you’re prepping to be snowed in this weekend – or hoping you’ll be snowed in. (What, just me?) With that in mind, this week’s Cocktail Hour recipe is all about a cozy drink that’ll keep you pleasantly buzzed.
After all, being snowed in is only fun for so long, but after you’ve eaten all your snacks, caught up on your DVR (presuming the power doesn’t rudely go out on you!), finished the book you were reading, built a snowman, and begrudgingly shoveled the driveway … well, things get a whole lot less fun.
(I’m sure Chuck and my father desperately want me to include the fact that I have never shoveled an entire driveway – at most I’ve shoveled a tiny bit of snow away from my car and barreled through the snow to break free)
And that, my friends, is where the Applejack Sazerac comes in!

- 2oz. Apple Brandy
- .25oz Maple Syrup
- 3 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

Stir with ice (or snow!… clean snow), then strain into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with lemon, if desired.
