Kate Middleton to Become Queen of the Courts

The tennis courts, that is.

Kate, who – along with her parents, siblings, and Prince William – is known to be an avid tennis player, has recently been scouted out by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (aka Wimbledon) to be their new figurehead.

Rumor has it that this move was prompted by the fact that rival Queen’s Club over in West Kensington is also seeking Kate as their official patron. The Middleton family, and Prince William, already play frequently at Queen’s Club, and the Middleton women (sans Kate) were there just last week to watch a tournament.

Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II will remain the official patron of All England (although she is notoriously unfond of tennis, having only visited All England twice in nearly four decades), and The Duke of Kent will continue with his duties as President, including presenting the trophies to the men’s and women’s singles Wimbledon champions.

It is thought that Kate will be called on to bring new light to the game, and get the younger generation involved, and – when the time comes – she will take over The Duke of Kent’s responsibilities.
