Paul Giamatti is going to be showing up in an unfamiliar place later this year – the hallowed halls of Downton Abbey.
The actor, who has been in an absolutely absurd number of films (seriously, he’s got 11 films currently in the works!), will be joining the Downton cast this coming season. Before you start imaging how he and Lady Mary could possibly fall in love after the devastating loss of her husband, fear not. They won’t (well, we hope).
Giamatti will be playing Lady Cora’s brother, therefore making him an American. We also won’t see him until the season finale, where he’ll be joined by Shirley McLane, who will be reprising her role as Cora’s mother for a return to the big house. (No literally, it’s a big house… not like, jail or anything…. right?)
