Am I missing something?

OPI Nailpolish

OPI Nailpolish

In my pre-law student days, I used to go get a pedicure at least once a month and had the freedom and ambition to paint my finger nails on an as-needed basis (once a week or so). Now, I’m too poor to get pedicures and can’t justify the time it takes to paint my finger nails more than once every couple weeks.

But – I’m confused. When I get pedicures at a salon, they stay perfect for WEEKS. When I do it myself, it’s chipping in about a week or so. And when I paint my own fingernails – watch out. They’re chipping and peeling after about 2 days.  It wasn’t such a big deal when I didn’t have hours and hours of homework every night, but now I just don’t really have the time (and no, painting my nails doesn’t take that long – but waiting for them to dry takes foreverrrr).

Am I missing something? What is the secret to wonderful, perfect, long-lasting nail polish? It seems to escape me.

So – I am just throwing this out there to the interwebs – I am looking for the BEST no-chip nail polish in a dark purple-ish type color & mani/pedi tips! If OPI, Sally Hansen, or any other nail polish manufacturer would like to throw some samples my way, I’ll do a review, haha.

Leave comments, tips and tricks here or on Twitter (@theblogtini) b/c I am sick of chipped gross looking nails.

  1. I have the same issues with my fingernails. Within hours they'll be chipped. That's why I stick to clear polish.

As for my toes though, mine last months. I just use Revlon polish with a Sally Hansen mirror top coat.

As for the color, Orly has a beautiful matte purple to die for right now! I'm going to buy it as soon as I get over not wanting to pay $7-something for it. Ha 😉
