Levi’s “Ex-Girlfriend” Jeans

So. I have this thing… I guess it’s an opinion. Basically, it’s that I think it’s weird when dudes wear SUPER skinny jeans. Jeans that are fitted and look nice, well made, and keep a guy looking “put together” – PERFECT. Jeans that are so skinny they wouldn’t fit me … not okay. Weird, actually.
I also have this thing… probably another opinion, that Levi’s makes the best jeans I have ever put on. I bought 2 pairs of these amazing jeans about a year ago, and then lost weight so I can’t wear them anymore. But I am absoluely going to buy them in my new size. They are amazing.
How do these 2 opinions relate? Well. I’ll tell you.

Levi’s now makes… “Ex-Girlfriend” Jeans. Yep. You read that right. These jeans are to men what the “boyfriend” jean is to women. Except… the opposite.
While “boyfriend” jeans are loose fit and comfy, “ex-girlfriend” jeans for men are SUPER tight. Like, really, really tight. Basically, they’re jeggings with a different name.

I DONT UNDERSTAND… Why would a guy WANT to wear super tight jeans? Don’t they have all sorts of stuff going on in the jeans region that would make wearing pants that tight pretty uncomfortable?
I also think it looks weird. When girls wear leggings/skinny jeans/jeggings, for the most part they wear shirts that are long enough to cover at  least the waistband of their pants, if not their entire derriere. Dudes tend to wear their super skinny pants with a regular length t-shirt, which makes it look like they just put on shrunken clothes, rather than clothes that are supposed to (for whatever reason) be that small.
So what am I missing? Do guys wear skinny jeans for the same reason girls do – to be on trend & show off their legs?
Comment & let me know what you think of the new Levi’s “Ex-Girlfriend” Jeans… and the phenom that is dudes wearing skin-tight pants.
