Girl Crush – Lauren Conrad

So first – let me begin with an anecdote. One time, someone told me I look like Lauren Conrad, and they pretty much became my best friend. Unfortunately, I can’t remember who that person is right now, but it’s alright – if I ever recall who said those amazing words, they will immediately regain their spot as my best friend in the entire universe. And while I don’t necessarily believe that I look like Lauren Conrad, a girl can dream – right?
And why would I be so pleased to hear that I look like LC? Well for starters, she always looks effortlessly chic. I’m amazed that even when she’s wearing jeans and a t-shirt she still looks like she put tons of thought and consideration into her look. (Whereas when I wear jeans and a t-shirt, sometimes I look like I just rolled out of bed, whoops!)
She mixes trendy pieces with timeless classics for looks that appear not only well put together but comfortable. She tends to stay away from the bright, sparkley colors and fabrics and hangs around with neutrals in flattering cuts – generally taking a less is more approach – which means that her style is pretty much attainable for everyone. Even though her clothes probably cost 10 times the amount mine do (unfortunately for me), I can still easily pull off an Lauren Conrad inspired outfit with clothes I’ve already got.
Anyway, Lauren Conrad – reality TV star, author, and fashionista-extraordinaire –  has just launched her first beauty/lifestyle website; The Beauty Department. And let me tell you – I am obsessed.
TBD launched yesterday, so there isn’t much going on right now, but it’s apparent that the site is going to be amazing. There is currently 2 hair tutorials on the site right now, 1 for a super cute and casual knot ponytail, and another for glamourous loose waves. (Both of which I intend to try this weekend – I have a feeling the knot ponytail could become my new go-to hair style.)
So – go check out The Beauty Department, then hurry back here to tell me what you think!
