For this week’s installment of music Monday I bring to you the name of the luckiest baby on the planet, and the song written to celebrate her existence.
The name of the luckiest child on the planet, born to first time parents Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Beyonce Knowles is Blue Ivy Carter, while the name of Jay-Z’s new song, in which he name drops his daughter, is called Glory.
Could someone please explain to me why celebrities feel the need to name their children ridiculous things? I mean, I guess they won’t get made fun of in their expensive private schools because all of the other rich kids have weird names too – but seriously. Blue? It makes me think of the movie Old School… “You’re my boy blue!” See – weird.
Anywho – congrats to Jay-Z and Beyonce, the most secretive couple in Hollywood. While they did make an official announcement about the birth of Blue Ivy Carter (I kind of feel that her name has to be said in its entirety every time), they tend to shy away from the press and making anything official ever. I guess they figured people would figure it out when Beyonce was no longer pregnant.
