After I posted my dress set earlier today, my 6th grade math teacher (yes, we are friends on Facebook and yes, we talk to each other) mentioned that she had an awards ceremony to go to (she’s a semi-finalist for the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year!!!) that she needed to find a dress for.
I happily obliged pulled together an e-mail full of dresses that I thought would be perfect for a daytime event that was decidedly formal in a variety of price points (the most expensive was $158 and the least expensive was $38) and sent it her way.
She specifically asked for red or black dresses, as those are what she prefers for her coloring, but I threw in some navy blue, gray, and off-white to mix it up ~ it is a daytime event, after all. This season the sheath dress is very “in,” (thanks, Kate Middleton) so most of the dresses I pulled were sheaths, although I did find a few great a-line dresses. I particularly love the navy blue peplum dress (above), since it has a nice unexpected flair to it while still being professional.
I’m not sure if she’s going to love all of my selections as much as I do, but it was fun to play!
(Unfortunately, the dresses I grabbed from Nordstrom, Macy*s, and Banana Republic were unable to be loaded into Polyvore, but here are the ones from ModCloth that were uploaded. My FAVORITE dress was from Banana Republic, and can be found here.)
