Prince George Photos Expected To Break Records

It’s been widely reported that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka Prince William and Kate Middleton) plan to release the first photos of their son via Twitter (through the @ClarenceHouse account), and that the photos are expected to be ones taken privately by family members, rather than by a hired photographers.

Now, experts are predicting that the release of the photos are going to post huge booms in business across various industries. For example, social media experts – particularly those involved with Twitter – are expecting that the photos will be the most widely re-tweeted photos ever, breaking the current record of just over 500,000 re-tweets, which was set by a photo of President Obama taken just after his re-election.

Unsurprisingly, experts are also predicting that celebrity glossies are going to see a huge surge in sales. The August 5 issue of People magazine was the highest selling issue of the year and, of course, featured Prince George on the cover. It’s nothing new for royal photos to make for extremely high selling covers. In fact, the issue of People commemorating Princess Diana’s death in 1997 still holds the record as the brand’s best-selling cover.
