Prep Your Skin For Fall

Fall Skincare
{Alayne White, owner of Alayne White Spas in Bristol and Providence, Rhode Island, stopped in to give us some tips on amping up our Fall beauty routine!}
After a summer of humidity, sun, and loads of extra sunscreen, skin is usually in need of a serious cleanup once Fall rolls around. In addition to booking a regular facial, the change in seasons is a great time to revisit your skin care routine to help it recover from the months of abuse and to prep it for the climate shift.

First up, I recommend a great exfoliation – either at home or in spa. Dermalogica Thermafoliant ($52.00) is a warming exfoliant that will clean up and remove dead skin. You’ll also need to up the ante with a moisturizer change. If you went with a lighter formula for the summer, take it up a notch and look within your existing line for something that has some extra moisture.

Many of us feel we need to completely change our skin routine by switching product companies when in fact, just switching products within the line you love is much easier and better for your skin. If you’re in the market for a completely new moisturizer, though, Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream ($40.00) is an excellent medium-weight option, while Earth Essence Wonder Cream ($14.00) is perfect for those looking for a heavier solution.
