Hair Plugs & Uggs

Last year around this time, I would have told you that the starting quarterback of my boyfriend’s beloved New England Patriots – Mr. Tom Brady –  was a pretty fantastic looking guy. (Uhm, except for the dorky smile he has in the photo to the left.)
But now, with his shaggy hair & scruff face I am completely unimpressed. However, being a New England Patriots fan, and having a completely fanatical boyfriend, I let it slide.
Now it turns out that Mr. Brady is apparently getting hair plugs, and his shaggy hair might be a ploy to hide some thinning spots. Damn. How unfortunate for him & his millions of dollars. But it’s alright, it happens – it’s part of the cycle of life. I certainly can’t hold that against him.
But here is something I simply can’t get over. Tom is now the official spokesman for UGG. Now – it’s pretty much universally known that guys don’t have a whole lot going for them in terms of fashion sense. That isn’t to say that ALL guys don’t have any sense of style, but for the most part anything dressier or more involved than jeans and a tee makes guys uncomfortable.

BUT – even a dude who has a terrible time dressing himself in the morning should never ever EVER wear a pair of UGG boots in place of regular footwear. UGG Slippers – sure, why not? They’re comfy cozy and… they’re slippers. But UGG boots are weird looking enough on girls, never mind on guys. {Editorial Note: I have a bunch of pairs of UGG boots myself, but I am a chick and therefore, it’s okay. I don’t know why, it just is. Maybe it’s because 90% of the things girls do/wear for “fashion” are painful and therefore we should be allowed one completely ridiculous comfort.}

The Moral of This Story: Men should not wear UGG boots. Even if they are ridiculously rich, hot guys like Tom Brady – who now has a terrible haircut, which may be a ploy to cover up his thinning hair.
