Fashion Fail #1

As anyone who reads this blog regularly knows, I could go on and on about the wardrobes of my favorite celebrities. I turn green with envy every time I see a photo of Jennifer Aniston – she looks amazing in just jeans and a t-shirt. Every. Single. Time.

But not every single celebrity looks great every single time they head out.

Because everyone has a fashion blunder once in a while, including people who are paying thousands and thousands of dollars to ensure that doesn’t happen. But sometimes, when you’re trying to be on the cutting edge, you really should just end up on the cutting room floor.
Check out this week’s three Fashion Fails after the jump! And check back later for my favorite dresses of the 2011 Golden Globes.

I’m not entirely sure how I want this to work. Perhaps as my readership goes up this will be a voting section, but for now I will just post my top three fashion fails for the week (… or does that make them my bottom three?).
And since the Golden Globes was last weekend, there is no better time to start. It seemed like all the ladies in Tinsletown got the memo on this year’s hot colors: emerald green, peach, and pale pinks/nudes. I don’t pretend to know how/why trends develop, but it is always shocking to me that at these types of high profile outings, the people to be gawked at the most end up being a little matchy-matchy with other celebs.

Ok anyway – off we go!

Sandra Bullock

Ok listen. I love Sandra Bullock. Seriously. She is hilarious. And she almost always looks fantastic. But I just can not get behind this ensemble. It’s just shy of the mark every single time.
  • The color of her dress is great, but she looks incredibly washed out since her makeup is so light and her hair is so dark.
  • While bangs are “in” right now, this fringe is harsh. They’re so long her beautiful eyes are almost completely covered, and they’re super blunt.
  • I love the beading and embellishments of her dress, but it seems like there is just too much there. There’s too much extra fabric all over the place, and the dress seems a little big – as if she lost 10 pounds after being fitted for it.
Michelle Williams

Ok so. Yeah. There’s this. Michelle Williams is usually one of those girls that looks effortlessly beautiful. There are always pictures in the tabloids of her walking down the streets of Brooklyn with her daughter looked super comfy, and super put together. But this… I don’t even know where to start, so I will just dive right in.

  • Michelle – you were at the Golden Globes, not a bridal shower in someone’s backyard. Where is your makeup and jewelry?
  • Why are you wearing a burlap sack with some daisy stickers on the red carpet?
  • Also – you look like you might be very, very high. Your eyes are super glassy and you have one of those creepy far away looks on your face. Snap back to the present, please.
  • What are those weird fin things coming off the side of your burlap sack? Is it supposed to be some weird train? I don’t get this entire look.
Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera needs to fire whoever dressed her for this event. The end.
  • Your dress is too small. And by small I mean tight. It looks like it’s one size too small around the middle. I know that this dress is supposed to be super fitted and then flair out at the bottom… but she looks very uncomfortable, and perhaps a little bit like she’s struggling to breathe.
  • I don’t like the black lace over nude lining on this dress, and here’s why. There is more nude in the middle of the dress than lace, making it look like she is almost naked. Not cute.
  • Per usual, she went with the va-va-voom red lips, but her hair is so plain. And she has barely any jewelry on.
  • And her bag looks like she’s carrying around a dead crow.
  • I don’t like the bottom of the dress, where it begins to flair out into the mermaid tail. For some reason the designer decided that it was necessary to put a seam there, and pleats in the “tail”. It looks cheap.
