2011 SAG Awards Roundup!

Hey there friends!
Today was the first day on the job of my new job. Let me just tell you – I can answer phones with the best of ’em. ::Rolls Eyes::
In other news – last night was the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, & per my promise last night via Twitter, here are my picks for best & worst of the night. I’ve decided to rank them on a scale of 1 to 10, just for kicks.

Check out my rankings after the jump. And don’t forget to comment & hit me up on Twitter!

{Disclaimer: I am taking all photos from JustJared.com, because he’s got the best ones… & I’m too lazy to hunt them down, & too poor to pay for the rights.}

Worst
Jane Lynch (from Glee) chose this purple Ali Rahimi dress & it was
all wrong. It’s far too “young” for her, & the puffiness around the hips does her
absolutely no favors.
Score: 2.5

January Jones looks pretty in this Carolina Herrera gown.
She looks super skinny, but a) miserable & b) like an oriental rug. Maybe if she had
smiled a little bit, she could have pulled off the dress better.
Score: 4
Jennifer Lawrence looks absolutely ridiculous… kind of like a pink highlighter
exploded on her. And then she got into a fight with a weed whacker as she was
getting out of her limo, which proceeded to destroy the top of her dress. There is
literally NOTHING I like about this, and I tried people – I really did. The only reason
got the score she’s getting is because nothing could be as bad as the next one.
Score: 2
Kate Mara looked… confused. A tiered, ruffly bottom with a woven, corsety top.
Wrong. All wrong. She doesn’t even look comfortable the way she is standing!
And the color is almost the exact same shade as her skin tone, so she looks… weird.
Score: 1
Ohhh Winona Ryder – you crazy chick you. The dress is pretty… if you were at
your wedding, not walking down a red carpet. Your eyes look crazy & racoonish,
your hair looks like you just got out of the shower, and your jewelry looks like you made
it at summer camp. But – since it could have been a pretty wedding dress, points for that.
Score: 3.5
So close… Yet so far
Amber Riley (Glee) looked pretty, and her dress was gorgeous – unfortunately
the rouching doesn’t do much to flatter her figure in some areas. Had she skipped
the rouching, she probably would have gotten an 8, but instead…
Score: 6.5
Kim Kardashian looked pretty, but her dress struck me as very prom-y, &
when you are paying someone to dress you for the red carpet, you should
absolutely never, ever settle for looking prom-y. Also, the dress kind of loses me
because it doesn’t seem to know which way it’s going. Is it Grecian, Old School
Hollywood Glam, or Tinsletown Trendy?
Score: 7
The only reason Sarah Hyland (from Modern Family) is losing points is
because I loathe this color. Burnt orange shouldn’t be allowed to exist, unless
it’s for little kids to draw pictures of the sun, & even then, it should be yellow.
If this dress was black, & the knot (is that what that is?) was a little further off to
the side, it could have been stunning, but instead it’s just “eh”.
Score: 7

Best
Just like they did at the Golden Globes, the ladies from Glee all (for the most part) looked absolutely phenomenal at the SAG Awards. I mean – seriously. They all looked a-freaking-mazing.
Dianna Agron (from Glee) wearing Chanel. She completely, 100% KILLED it
in this dress.
Score: 9
Jenna Ushkowitz (from Glee) wearing Badgley Mischka & looking stunning.
Score: 8.75
Lea Michele (from Glee) look A-FREAKING-MAZING in Oscar de la Renta. I love the tiny
gold belt she wore. It could have made the dress look too casual, but she pulled it off.
Score: 8.5
Heather Morris (from Glee) looked stunning in this Romona Keveza gown.
The epitome of “classic, understated elegance”. Well done!
Score: 9
Mila Kunis (from Black Swan) pretty much won every “best dressed” award
of the night in this Alexander McQueen gown, & while she didn’t get my
highest mark, there is no denying that she looks absolutely gorgeous.
Score: 8.5
