The Sun Is Shining…

Ok so across most of the country the sun isn’t shining today. Which is unfortunate, because I am so ready for spring! So – to try to persuade spring to come out of hibernation today’s blog will be about my all-time favorie accessory – sunglasses!

In addition to looking cute, wearing sunglasses is good for you – or rather, the skin around your eyes.  Since you’re wearing sunglasses, you won’t be prone to squinting into the light, which will minimize the occurance of fine lines (“laugh lines”) that form around your eyes.
And if your shades have UV protection (which most do these days), you’ll be preventing not only damage the skin around your eyes, but to your eyes themselves. According to the Mayo Clinic, “UV radiation from the sun can damage not only the skin of your eyelid but also the cornea, lens and other parts of the eye. UV exposure also contributes to the development of certain types of cataracts.”
So – without further ado:
My 4 favorite sunglass styles for this spring/summer!
I did 4 because there wasn’t a 5th style that I truly loved.
Ray Bans
These babies are classics and, as with most Ray Ban sunglasses are unisex. I think they’re going to be my next sunglasses purchase. I tried them on in black and wasn’t really a fan, but they looked phenomenal in white.
 Tom Ford
Whitney, $380.00
I love these Tom Ford sunglasses. Kyle & Kim Richards on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills each sported a pair, and I fell in love with them. The price tag is steep though, and I’m not sure if I’d ever spent quite that much on sunglasses. But – they’re gorgeous, and I’m sure this style will be popping up all over the place this year!
Michael Kors
Alright, so I actually own these Michael Kors sunglasses, and I am obsessed with them. I bought them a few years ago after I landed a new (albiet short-lived) job, as a congratulations present to myself. I particularly love the cutout on the side, and the fact that while they are definietly oversized sunglasses, the arm is thin and doesn’t overwhelm my head.
Ray Ban
Cockpit, $139.00
Similarly to the Wayfarers (above), these sunnies are unisex. And they’re amazing. And, like the Wayfarers, also a classic. I’m actually ashamed to say that I don’t own a pair of aviator-style sunglasses. My boyfriend actually has these and I keep trying to convince him to give them to me (since he prefers the traditional Ray Ban Aviator style [which I’m not such a huge fan of])to no avail.
So let me know what y’all think! Is there a style/brand that I missed, or do you completely disagree with some of my picks?
